I have a dumb cane that is producing 3 different types of leaves from the same trunk. How rare is this variegation? Or is this common?

No its not really rare for this to happen. All these dieffenbachias are hybrids, and sometimes, one genetic trait of a hybrid can be expressed more on individual leaves. It happens in many aroids, philodendrons especially.
