@dave,

If it's not too much to ask, would you be able to make it so people are unable to download pictures from the database by holding and saving? @GigiPlumeria had an issue with an Etsy selling taking one of her Adenium photos and using it on their listing. I am able to save the same photo myself so I imagine it's possible for everyone else on the internet to do so.

Fortunately, the seller removed it after being contacted, but I imagine it's a little annoying having to contact people to remove said images.

This subject came up a few months ago. In short, there's really no way to stop it. All you have to do is make a copy of your screen (Prt Scr key), paste and you have the image. There's nothing anyone can do to stop that basic computer function, even if Dave blocks the downloading.

Here's the recent discussion:

Thank You! I tip my hat to you. I thought it used to be disabled at some point, but my memory is also faulty. Hilarious!

It doesn't look like Dave was able to respond to that post though. Thinking

It is disabled on some platforms but not on others. I don't think there is an easy way to prevent people from taking screen shots. It's kind of a lost cause (see thread above) so the only practical solution seems to be the whack-a-mole game of contacting copyright violators and asking them to take down the images. At least for now.

He did disable the right-click save function for the enlarged database images as that's what most people want, but not the thumbnails. And Murky is right, there are other methods, especially the one mentioned so the only way to avoid it is not post anything on the internet.
I have the copyright terms of use saved for eBay, Etsy and here and have used the quoted relevant material when contacting offenders. Most have no problem complying.

Thank You! @Hamwild for getting it removed from Etsy! I tip my hat to you.

I saw my photos pinned sometimes, which I don't mind because it brings the links back to garden.org, which I think is great encouragement for others to join. I had one contact me asking if it is okay to use my photos for their community garden newsletter in NC. I checked their newsletter and truly community based and I agreed and just told the person to give credit to gigiplumeria @ garden.org and they did and left my copywrite logo.

Where I have issue is taking my photo without permission (the copyright © watermark was covered) plus I was worried that someone could get scammed by buying a desert rose that was based on my photo that may not be available.
