In 2022 I bought and planted these three similar cultivars to compare. I'll report periodically in this thread how they do for me.

I purchased all from Mid-America, and I believe all rhizomes were good sized, although I didn't take pictures.

In spring of 2023, only one bloomed, Supercharged:


Here is an early August picture of the foliage of all three. Elope to Madrid (lower left) has not put out much growth. So Hot (middle) and Supercharged (right) are more vigorous.


I hope So Hot blooms next year, but I don't know if Elope to Madrid will.

I got So Hot last year as a bonus, but it died over winter. Looks like yours is doing well. Test the soil near Elope to Madrid, a lot of (but not all) of Blyths irises seem to like a more alkaline soil. If the soil is neutral, add a bit of garden lime around it and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip, Tom. I'll have to test my soil, but I suspect it leans toward alkaline. Elope to Madrid has put on some more growth since I took the picture above, but still lags behind the other two.
