Howdy!
I have a question I can't seem to answer so far. I have two small flower beds in the front of my home. Growing and keeping flowers alive during the summer has been a herculean task. One particular flower in the bunch seemed unfazed by the heat, to me it's always been called 'Batchelor Buttons'. I believe I have a variety called "Purple PomPom.' They are quite the looker as you go by the front of the house. We actually had rain today, Hopefully, it will help our 17+ rain deficit, but now the BB's are hagared by being down in the rain. We still have a long growing season remaining in Zone 9; how do I tidy the masses?

Usually trimming out the battered areas and tidy up a bit is all that's need. They will look better as the season continues. They are a beautiful combination and nice companions planting.

They're Gomphrena globosa, Globe Amaranth. Bachelor's Buttons are Centaurea cyanea. Gomphrenas make great dried flowers and hold their color for months (years?).

Glad you recognized them John because I didn't see any Bachelor Buttons.

Yeah, I didn't either. They were the only thing that came close!

I forgot, Welcome! Toddius! Hope you find lots of help with your garden here.
