This November, I want to get a smallish Geijera parviflora (Australian Willow) at a local nursery.
When I Google the scientific name, I can't find any local nurseries that have the tree (for $50 or less.)
The same is true when I search Google Shopping.
Also, Googling "Geijera parviflora for sale" and "Geijera parviflora for sale near me" do not help.
I live in the Coachella Valley (in Southern California) and I believe that this is a fairly common shade tree in the low desert.
I plan to visit my local Lowe's and Home Depot to see if they have the tree, or if they can order it.
Does anyone have any other tips for finding a specific tree at a local nursery?

Google the local nurseries. Even if they don't have them in stock they can get them. $50 is about right for a 5 gallon tree. Independent nurseries generally have a broader range of stock than Lowe's and HD. More informed staff too.

Call your local nurseries and ask too. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find one that can order what you want, or know where you might find it. When I know they're very busy (like in spring), I've often emailed them and they always were very helpful and responded quickly.
