Dear Gardening Experts and Botanists,
Could you tell me what the tree (see attached photos) is and whether its fruits are edible or not.
Thanks
Li

I would like to add a photograph to show its seeds in order for you to identify it more easily.
Thanks
Li

Welcome to the site!

Looks a lot like a Quince.

Moving the questions to the Vegetables and Fruit forum, where more can join in.

Agree Quince, and yes, edible.
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!

If quince, not edible raw in my experience, I've tried.

There are recipes online for jelly and the like.

I'm not positive that it isn't a pear tree...
What did the fruit smell like?
How close to ripe is the fruit?

I define ripe as ready to drop...

Don't see them often any more, but in my youth every just about every small farm had quince and damson trees. They were popular for preserves, jams, jellies. Even we hungry kids would not eat the fruit raw.
