I have seven potted Pelargoniums inside my small house, all quite large and blocking most of the windows. A couple had been at the cemetery for a while and I didn't want them to die when winter arrived, so I brought them home. They had a few of those pretty little plants with bright green leaves and yellow flowers. I thought it was clover at first, and "nitrogen fixing", so I let them be.. Healthy for the Pelargoniums? I didn't know. The Pelargoniums didn't seem to mind..

Today I removed as much of the oxalis as possible- a Lot of pulling and tugging. They had gotten so numerous it was hard to find soil to do a moisture check. And their little seed pots, while quite fascinating, kept exploding, propelling seeds all over.

There are a few articles online about oxalis, claiming that the plant, while NOT true nitrogen fixers like clover, have some sort of symbiotic relationship with nitrogen fixing bacteria. The articles "Nitrogen-fixing bacteria and Oxalis – evidence for a vertically inherited bacterial symbiosis" are difficult reading for me.

I just wonder if I made a mistake pulling the oxalis and what your thoughts are on it. (I'm sure the oxalis will revisit the pots soon, whether I want them or not.)
