I don't know if it's just me, but the animated emojis stopped working yesterday evening.

They are simple animated gif files. I don't know why your browser might stop animating the frames.

I'll have to look into it. I'm using Safari and our ipad did just update the other day. I don't understand why all of a sudden, but one of our apps stopped working a few hours after the update too.

@dave, I'm not sure what happened, but gif files are working elsewhere. I'm sure it'll fix itself at some point.

Well, that's odd. I can press and hold the animated emoji and it gives me this at the bottom. It animates after I select it and apparently stays animated.


Edit: Nevermind, once I close the tab and come back to garden.org, they're no longer animated. Seems to be an OS or app issue. I'll have to look into it more.

@dave, I figured it out. It was a setting in Accessibility on the ipad under "Motion." No idea how the option for "auto-play animated images" was disabled as I don't snoop around in accessibility.

Sometimes updates mess with your usual settings. It's happened to me on Android as well as in Windows.

It seems the new round of updates messed alot of things up because I had apps moved around on my phone after the last update and had a few issues with some apps being slower than normal. They're supposed to make things better, not worse.

I have auto-updates disabled for my iPad, for those very reasons. Most of the time, the updates really aren't that helpful, so I just don't do it unless I have to.

I do the smaller ones because they tend to be security updates. But I knew better than to update to the next big number (17.0.0). Speaking of which, it looks like there's another small one to fix bugs. Let me download that one... maybe it'll fix the issue my weather app is having.
