I have a large, beautiful Schefflera, which I repotted this year. It looks healthy but when I water it the water doesn't come through the holes in the pot. I don't know why. A few of the roots are coming through the pot hole but I don't want to repot again and disturb what looks like a healthy plant. I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

Can you post a picture of the whole plant and pot?

If no water comes out, you need to give it more unless it's not soaking in.

Hi Sharon, Welcome! to the site!

Can you upload a photo showing the plant with the pot and soil? It may be that you aren't pouring enough water onto the soil to thoroughly saturate the entire soil mass, or it may be that the soil has become so compacted that it is hindering proper drainage. I'd try sticking a wooden skewer through one of the drainage holes, moving it around to loosen the soil and see if any water drains out.

If it is an issue with the soil becoming extremely compacted and preventing the excess water from flowing out of the pot, you may have to repot into a lighter more airy potting medium.
