Hi, Just joined your garden association, I notice that you are a USA organisation, We are a community group in Northeast UK, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.
My primary reason for joining is to use & possibly add to your plant database with your permission as I am creating "smart" plant labels for our garden, [these will include a QR code linking the user with the plant details online]. We have an ever increasing variety of plants, edible vegetables, culinary & medicinal herbs,decorative flowers. which are also used as companion plants, we grow according to organic permaculture methods, working with nature, not against it. there's considerable local interest from schools, health professionals, other local community charity groups & individuals. One aim is to involve the local community in environmental awareness for free or as near as because many local people are impoverished.

The National Gardening Association (garden.org) is headquartered in the U.S.A. and our website has members from around the world, the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, etc. We enjoy chatting about our favorite plants and sharing photos and information. I hope you get a chance to browse the list of forums (which can be found under the Community Tab at the top of each page); join the conversations you find interesting and share information and photos!

The information in our Plant Database is member generated; we can add/update data and upload our photographs but the Plant Database is not downloadable.

Thanks plantladylin, I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas etc on an international level. I don't wish to download the database, just create links to specific plant info.

I belong to a couple of Facebook Plant Identification pages and I'm always sharing links to the garden.org database.

Also note that when you make contributions to the database, at some point (100?) you can turn off site ads. I really value our database having members comments that I can trust to inform me about various plants. There's plenty of room for comments by gardeners from different zones and experiences.
