Can you tell me the name of my catus I have had it for over 40 years my grandmother gave it to back when it had only a few arms it's been in the same pot all this time thanks for your time

No idea about what cactus, but I just wanted to comment that's it a beauty, including how evenly you've grown it (you must live by my rule, 1/4 clockwise every week or something like that).

Wow, that is really beautiful!! I don't know a thing about Cacti but I wonder if it might be a variety of Aporocactus? It looks somewhat similar to Rattail Cactus (Aporocactus flagelliformis) ? Here are a couple of photos from our database (blue link above):

Same here, I do not know what kind of a cactus this is but what a healthy beauty and IT IS 40 YEARS OLD 🤯 Would love to see a picture of it with blossoms.
