Hi, I just got five new orchids at a festival today and I was wondering if anyone could give me some general tips. I did just plant them in orchid bark and some sphagnum moss. The roots looked healthy on all of them. I live in Florida zone 9a and I like to keep my orchids outside and move them into a greenhouse during winter. So if anyone has any certain tips or tricks that work well for these plants then please send them my way!

Perhaps our Floridians will take this one?
My advise here in NJ would be to find a nice, protected spot, water as needed and simply enjoy the pretty blooms!

Hi Phioloplant, I live just north of Tampa and grow my plants outside year round...except when it gets super cold. I personally don't have much luck with any of the oncidium family as they seem to resent the extreme heat of our long summers.
The Zygo and Psygmorchis pusilla might need some extra care and I would suggest looking at the AOS culture sheets for those two. They are all very pretty, you made some nice choices!
