Someone gave me a Dragon Fruit plant in a pot with 1 arm (or branch) that was about 12" long I guess.
Then another arm grew from the end of the1st arm to about 12 inches with some roots growing from it. Then it has grown a 3 arm from the end of the 2nd arm with more roots.
Now it is about 3 feet long with nothing growing from it.
If needed I can take o pic of it.
How am I supposed to plant it so I can get some fruit?
Thank you

Hi tfmc,
So you have a baby Dragon. I am not an expert on Dragons but I've got a couple of them. I had never heard of a Dragon Fruit plant until about 18 months ago and I thought wow, I would love to grow one of them. And then just a week later I saw them at a big box store. I was so surprised. I didn't think they could grow here in my zone. But they were pretty cheap so I bought 2.

Well, I soon found out it is too cold to grow them here. Big bummer. But I figured I'd try to move them indoors in the winter. I needed to come up with a plan. Well, I still haven't come up with a good plan! They grow huge! And last week when I moved them indoors I decided I don't ever want to do that again! I broke off 4 little segments and so I put them in pots of dirt. They are now rooting and I have no idea what I am going to do with 6 of them!

Anyway, here is a recent post that I answered a few months ago. Just for info...
The thread "Please inspect my Dragon fruit plant inspection" in Ask a Question forum
In it I gave a link to a good website with lots of info.

And this is another good link that has excellent info for you.

And this is a picture of what mine look like today. I think they are going to stay there in my laundry room until he$% freezes over because I'm not moving them again!
I hope you come up with a good plan and enjoy your Dragon.

Dragon fruit plants are vines, actually. Those roots it's putting out on the stem will attach to a pole or fence if you plant it near, and help it to find the support. Commercial dragon fruit plants are grown on tall, T-shape supports with a fence post in the ground, and often a square or X of 2x4's fastened to the top. They need to be in full sun to bloom and make fruit. They're not fussy about soil.

In a normal Florida summer they'll get enough water from the rain, but this year, I watered mine with the hose once a week when it didn't rain. They take in a lot of their nutrients and water though the stems, so I spray them with soluble fert when I spray my orchids.

Here's a video showing growing from cutting to fruit, what size plant to expect for that... but the soil mix is not what you'll probably use

Plant it and they will come.
