The ones I have had over 6 years is Purple Palace and Green Spice.

I wonder about the Purple Palace because I see so often people say their PP turns green but mine never gets green. It stays a reddish purple all seasons. So I wonder if it is light, my soil or a missed mark plant.

Those 2 have also done well for me , but my Palace Purple does get green during the summer. Earth and Guardian Angel are also ones I have for many years.

I have both Palace Purple and Green Spice. My Palace Purple has a mind of its own.... shoots up new plants 10 feet from where the original plant it located... AND i have it in the hot afternoon sun -- go figure!

Yes if only they could develop those two in different colors. They are real perennials. These others I have my doubts.

I get many seedlings from Palace Purple, Villosa and Bronze Wave.

For you it looks like something with richardsonii and americana would be good. I have had the best luck with villosa and americana combinations. Hope this helps.
