Just came across this ad. Looks like something that would be great to have but today is last day. Would keep cukes nice and clean. Love the arches.

Hi Tigerpaws' Yes, it is a nice item but.... the website is most likely... is a scam. It wouldn't sell for $20. and their website says they will ship it to about 30 different countries for....$6.99! Definitely a scam. I did a bit of research. You can find it on Pintrest. It sells for $179.00 at Gardeners Supply.
https://www.gardeners.com/buy/...

However, if you would like to have a trellis, just the trellis.... I got mine at Tractor Supply for about $30. You have Tractor Supplies in Canada. Mine is 16' x 50". It is bendable and makes a great and very sturdy trellis. I have a couple of them. I have a small pick up truck and we bent the panels and slid them right onto my truck. But tractor supply sells a lot of these 'cattle panels'. Some are bendable and some aren't so I went to the store to see it and make sure I was getting the right one.
https://www.tractorsupply.com/...

I used some big limbs that came down from my trees during a snow storm to anchor it into the ground. Lots of people buy several and put them together to make a cozy little tunnel through their garden. I just want my roses to grow up them for a pretty entrance to my food forest.

happy gardening.

@SedonaDebbie, I thought it was too good to be true but how is a person to know what is or isn't a scam? Thank you for replying. The Gardeners Supply $179.00 is only for the trellis, quite a difference from the $20.00 offer which makes one believe you will get both the trellis and the planter box. But, I still like the idea of the planter box which is elevated off the ground and then the trellis topping it. I would love to have a bunch oft hem going from the street to my back door. If they would be strong enough I could cover the arches with some PVC panels in winter and would have a clear walkway, no snow shoveling but it would get really costly (I would need quite a few).

Your arch is nice and high. I bet it is beautiful with the roses climbing on it.

I can't even access the original link posted, every browser I try gives a secure connection failed error, that it exceeds maximum permissible length, I tried with 4 different browsers. I got the same message when I shortened it to just the main domain and gave up.

But now that I see what you're talking about, I love those types of seated arbors and wish I had space for them. If I lived in a climate where I could keep flowers going year round in them, I'd definitely find a place for even a few. I had looked them up once before at Amazon and found a bunch more reasonable, but still no place where they wouldn't really be in the way for me.

Tigerpaws, 'If it sounds too good to be true.....!' I don't do a whole lot of online shopping but I have a few websites I trust. If I want to use a new website I always spend a lot of time looking at reviews of the company on many other websites. Mostly how many bad reviews they get because a lot of companies have been paying people to write good reviews.
If I'm thinking of buying something gardening, which is usually what I'm buying I always go to the 'Garden Watchdog' on 'Dave's Garden' website. People post reviews about all the garden companies and it's really helpful.

And Murky, I know how you feel. I'm running out of places to put things now... but I can't seem to help myself.
And so many of you are all talking about snow! I don't usually think about snow here in Arizona but the last few years we've been getting snow storms so I need to ponder that.

Twice today I opened that first link and the sale ended in just under 5 hours both times. Seems fishy.
Plant it and they will come.

Well Bob, that link says it all. Thanx for putting it up. I'm always really skeptical about buying anything on line, never know if your order will arrive. Who can one trust?

There are many good companies that you can trust out there, but you have to do your research to make sure. Just Googling "is shilatia.com legit" will bring up lots of pages with warnings, so just check any new store you haven't dealt with before for reviews and if legit to protect yourself.

And as already said, if it sounds to good to be true...

Might this drive customers back to brick and mortar? See the product in person before buying.
Plant it and they will come.

I prefer to see/touch products in person before I purchase unless it's something I'm already familiar with, and would happily patronize brick and mortar if I could. Don't know how it is in other regions, but here stores are woefully understocked and it seems to be getting worse. Whether I'm seeking clothing, hardware, drugstore items, I'm constantly being told it's out of stock and to look online. So frustrating when you want to examine something or want it today.

If it would have any effect on pushing people back to brick and mortar stores, it would have already done it. It's just too easy to check out a website before ordering, it literally takes a minute, two if you bother reading through some of the negative hits.

I'm with you Zoe, I want to see and touch the products before I buy. You see the true color, feel the fabric if it is clothing, see how well made a product is made and clothing can be tried on right on the spot. Saves a lot of time and effort involved in returning unwanted items which were ordered on line. Also, most times the item in a local business will be cheaper than it is on line.

Clothing , shoes,-- yes, fit and make cannot be well judged online.

We have plenty of in person shopping here but online can save so much running around and gas. Depends on the item.
Plant it and they will come.

I buy many plants online , just so much more of a selection. Also quite a few of my pet supplies which are cheaper online , love Chewy with their free shipping.
Electronics in store only in case of any problems.
Some clothing I can only get online or have to take a pretty long drive or not sold in stores that I have ever seen. Also only use vendors that accept Pay Pal as I do not like putting my card number out there.

I don't think there's anything that I haven't bought online at some time or other. Electronics all have good warranties, so I've never had any issues there. And I put everything on credit cards because I get cash back on every purchase (and pay it all monthly, never keep a balance). But the credit cards I have also let you use virtual numbers... they assign a specific number to one vendor and it can't be used any where else. It saves a major headache if you ever do need to get a new card number... all those virtual cards remain linked, they'll transfer over to your new card, and you don't have to change the cards for anywhere.

I've called local stores trying to find out if something was in stock, and since Covid, it's hard to actually get them to check on something, they're too busy. I fully understand it, I try to email when possible and that gets best results. But I'm not fond of driving around to 5 stores looking for something they don't have. So I've been resorting more to online shopping.

I feel like so much is more difficult since Covid. I keep telling myself it's the new normal and just adapt, but it's hard not to get frustrated sometimes.
