For your Black Friday pleasure, Robin has her 2024 listings open and she has many of the not most current but highly coveted cultivars. Robin sends big beautiful rhizomes and generous bonuses. I didn't know she was open this early, so I may have not realized that she has these. When she sells out of an iris, instead of a "sold out" banner as others use, her site is set up so that the entire listing just goes away. Just discovered this.

Are you excited? Here we go...

She also has Keppel masterpieces like Ocean Liner, Volcanic Glow, Espionage, Illuminati, Sunset Boulevard, Reckless Abandon, Ringtone, Reckless Child, Haunted Heart, Adriatic Noble - and my very favorite iris, Dark Universe

and of course many other gorgeous and more recent varieties.

Thanks for the tip, Lyn. I am dithering over whether or not to replace a Keppel or two that I lost.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

When it comes to Keppel, I don't dither. The majority of my iris are by him. He is the Da Vinci of iris.

I knew that she deleted the ones that were sold out from her web page, as when it got down to the end of the season she hardly had any left on the site. I see that some of them have limited stock, so you should get your orders in early. Smiling Nice to see she is still handling many of the older hard to find irises. She also has many of Keppel's last year intros listed. Hurray! I see a few replacements that I should be getting. Sighing! is there no end to this feaver. Rolling my eyes. I got a few of her intros last year, she has some nice ones. I can't wait to see her newest ones.

I have two of her intros: A little Less Conversation, that she sent me as a bonus. Big, ruffly and a rampant grower and Eclipse Spell - also big, ruffled but a slow grower for me. The color is lovely, a smoky lavender that's right between blue and purple, if you know what I mean. When I started selling bouquets it really brought home the value of selfs, They set off the crazy pattern ones nicely. This is a color that goes with any other color iris - dark enough to set off pastels, light enough to set off black iris. I suppose the same would be true in the garden. My plants are all crammed together and planted near one another based on growing rather than aesthetic criteria.

I dunno.... I am normally all in favor of lavenders, but I looked at the description and image of ECLIPSE SPELL, and between the two, I can't help but think that "dusky" translates to "muddy".

Maybe I'm just being influenced by my daylily experiences, where "lavenders" were often muddy mauves, but...

(And it's not like I have any business actually ADDING any more irises, beyond one I hope to get from a friend this year... Whistling )

@Polymerous Not sure what meets your criteria of muddy (and I think I like iris that you might describe that way) nor of course do I wish to encourage you to buy too many iris Sticking tongue out but here is a pic of Eclipse Spell

I have always been very happy with my Iris Sisters orders. She sends huge rhizomes. I didn't realize she deletes them once she has sold out so thanks for the info.
