I'm in trouble... sort of. When I brought everything in for the winter, I couted up 10-12 alos and colos.

And then I got an E-Mail about a really neat colocasia called Redemption. But, it isn't cheap. Upon doing some research, I found a shop on Etsy that has it and a couple of others that I'd love to have.

Since at least one of my BIG and old rhododendron in back is dying, I'll have a new semi-sunny spot. And with it being in the area of the still-in-the-planning-stage water feature, it wouldn't take much more to re-route the stream to keep them watered. Of course, there's always the issue of winter storage.....................

I have had the big Alocasia, possibly portora, which I have shared. I have not tried keeping it in ground thru winter. I feel like the top main bud would freeze and start a nasty rot in the trunk.
I keep mine in a huge blue pot and pull it out come fall, for winter storage. I mean, remove entirely from that pot to shake off the soil, them prop in a smaller pot. Or break off pups. Been thru this a number of years now.
I have also kept a black Colocasia, probably Black Runner, and Have had that survive winter a couple times in some form, sprouts from the runners.
Plant it and they will come.
