Do you have any photographs of the roots of the African iris? I have a huge. I have a huge clump in my backyard in Savannah, GA and I think that it's deities. I'm not sure but I would like to know for sure. And the only way I can tell is from the roots, because currently it is not blooming. again, I would like to see. a picture of the roots of the African iris, also known as deities.

A couple of genus share the common name of African Daisy.
African Iris (Dietes bicolor)
African Iris (Moraea polystachya)

I checked the images members have submitted to the Dietes database and only found this historic document for D. iridioides.

Take some pics of what you have. We have both D. iridioides and bicolor I can compare with.

It's Dietes bicolor. It should have pale yellow flowers with a brown blotch at the base of each petal. The leaves on D. vegeta also have a gentle curve to them while bicolor has straight leaves and are greener.
