Hi all, just checking in on behalf of a new client, her trees are oozing this orange stuff, not sure if it is related to a few small han cuts that were made with hand held clippers in the past 2 months or so? Also, seems like there are fruit flies or similar small insect being attaracted to the slime. Present on two maple trees only Thank you!

It is probably from those cuts and it is probably a fungus feeding on sap. The flies are feeding on the sap too (it is sugar after all). You could try washing it off and spraying with copper fungicide to prevent regrowth of the fungus. Or just remove the branch(es) below the wound.
