Hi Booterz,
Thank you so much for asking your question. You reminded me of some beautiful plants I grew some years ago, Thai Roselle Hibiscus. I grew 5 and they were absolutely gorgeous, deep, shiny, burgundy trucks and branches and pretty pale pink flowers. And they grew so well in my climate, like 4 and 1/2 feet in the first year. That doesn't happen to me very often. I was going to keep these pretty plants forever and make tea!
It's a little too cold for them here so I grew them in huge pots and brought them inside for the winter. About a month after I brought them in I realized they were just covered in spider mites. I mean covered! I took them outside on a warm afternoon, laid them on their sides and hosed them off big time. Then sprayed them with something, I don't remember what. But 2 weeks later I noticed they were again covered in spider mites!
I was super busy back then and just didn't have the time to deal with them so I dumped them in the trash. I never had spider mites before then and I haven't had any since. But I just ordered the seeds and I'm going to try to grow them again. And how hard can it be to get rid of the little buggers if they come back again? Thanks for bringing back my memories and posting.
