I have been using the standard green plastic pots for over 40 years. Now my collection is growing mostly in 4 or 5 inch pots. Those two sizes make up about 2/3 of my containers.
I use 3", 3 1/2" and 6" pots about a third of the time. So to get to the point, I needed to reorder plastic pots. Check these out as I had never noticed them before.
These first two are 13cm. or 4" pots.

The next two images are the 15cm. or 5" size. Notice the bottom drainage area and the side drainage slots arranged vertically.
They are made from a much heavier plastic then the typical green plastic pot. They are much thicker then those plastic sleeves that I see.
Yes, they cost more but are sturdy. I can't wait to see how the plants grow in them.

Green Barn Orchid Supplies in Delray Beach Florida. So sorry, I forgot to
Include that. I got 4 dozen of the 13's and 3 dozen of the 15's.

My favorite part is those side drainage slots as well as the sturdiness of the pot.

Those are plastic net pots but for my needs, they dry out much too quickly! I use those in the 31/2", 4", 5" and 6" size.
But like I said, they are no good for my Paphs., Phrags, and my assorted Cattleyas. I need pots with good drainage but not quite that good.

It shouldn't be too confusing, I was referring to the clear plastic pots in those four images. The net pots were just used by me to raise the pots above the table top. I just thought that if they sat perched on something that it would be easier to see them, to pose them.

I thought that as a follow up I would post a few images of my orchids in the new pots.
These first two images are of a Zygonesia hybrid.

I am anxious to see how these plants are going to do 3 months, 6 months down the road. I have never used these before but by trying new things, this is how we learn, how we discover new methods.

Thanks.
I will say though that I am having trouble keeping the Zygopetalums free of spotting. With what little information I could muster, good air movement would help with the spotting.
I have adjusted my fans in order to try to help with this.
