Hello,
Anyone know where to look to find good sales on raise garden beds?
I'm in an HOA so I can't plant in the ground. I'd like one that's at least 8x4x2. I'd like the extra space so I don't need to worry about planting all my herbs and fruits. There are all just so expensive though.
Maybe something like this.

I put one of those together for somebody... A few years ago.
While you can grow herbs in it... I'm not real impressed by the functionality of the tin bed...

How does this even work with a HOA garden... The favorable placement is in the middle of the lawn... And there will be a mad scream-fest over covering up any of that stuff...

Here at least, if an HOA doesn't allow in ground plantings, there's no way they'd allow a raised bed, let alone that large. Sometimes they allow potted plants, but there's usually restrictions on those too. Be sure the HOA allows it before you spend anything on it.

HOAs are generally nasty to deal with for single family or townhouses. Yes, even in your backyard from what you plant to fence type and height, they can even say what you use your garage for as well. It all depends on your HOA and what you signed.

A lot of times you have control over the area between the paint on the interior walls and nothing else. Even what's between the paint in different rooms. No new doorways or room enlargements/remodeling without permission.

If you're going to spend $ on a raised bed, you could build it out of landscape bricks. If you don't use mortar, you can change your mind about the shape later, move the whole thing elsewhere especially if you move, they don't warp like wood timbers, look great, and are not a permanent commitment.

I've examined a lot of HOA documents and they are all different. If the closing company did their job, it's not something a buyer would not know about before the sale. HOAs are not foisted on unsuspecting or unwilling buyers retroactively. Buying a property in a neighborhood with an HOA is a choice a buyer makes when they purchase.
