Went to visit my sister who lives just north of the border, down Mexico way (El Paso). Stopped by at a desert garden on the UTEP Campus. Nice little garden that surrounds one of the buildings. This is a photo of a Soaptree Yucca. Unusual name, not sure of the origin?

That sure is a whole different world from Michigan, Frank!

Roots and trunk could be processed into a soap type substance, used as soap and shampoo.
