Hi all. I live in a florida in zone 10a. Fairly new here and looking for advice on what to plant in a fenced in corner of backyard that doesn't get full Sun. Live a few miles from the coast and soil is a bit Sandy. Don't want anything that gets too wide or too tall. Doesn't necessarily have to flower. Thanks for your suggestions.

Actually there's a number of plants that would grow there...
I'd dig out the turf...

And... How many plants are you considering?
Are you looking for plants to shear? Or just something to let be?

I would consider one of the native hollies...
Or... azalea, camelia, anise shrub... Beauty berry...

Of those, my guess is azalea and camellia are more restrained in growth style, less likely to end up wide or tall if left alone.
But my sister has fatsia, that is a cool exotic look and they don't seem too fast growing?
Plant it and they will come.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking for something that can be natural without a lot of pruning. The Fatsia looks interesting!
