@KentPfeiffer is the mod for the Iris DB, so I've called him to take a look.

Space Age irises are well known for being inconsistent in terms of the appearance of beard appendages from year to year, or even flower to flower within the same year, including being entirely absent at times.

I'd be very surprised if @crowrita1 uploaded a misidentified picture to the database, but we can certainly ask him.
