What is tree mail? I just came across a post offering free silver vine seed. She said tree mail me. How do I do that?

Click on her name (in blue at the top of her message). Top line will say "send (her name here) a treemail". Click on that and type your messeage. Send.

Adding, another way to go about it (from any page) is to click on the blue envelope at the top right of the screen:


A popup will open. Click on "Compose a new mail"

It looks like the one in the database came from "American Peony Society Garden, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York" and it's a public domain photo. My guess is the website Zoe shared used their photo (which if I understand public domains, it is okay for them to do so).

Interesting, same photo but reversed. Grower might have provided the photos. When you Google seed company or nursery selections, they often share the same photos from the growers.

If you hover your mouse over thumbnail or enlarge the photo, you can see the caption reads "photo by Cornell Plantations via Cornell University Library's eCommons", and as mentioned, it is public domain and can be added here. I have added thousands of photos from vendors and public domain sites, it's always attributed in the caption.

Please don't encourage people to take photos from the web without clear authorization from the owner. An attribution in the caption may not be enough to avoid copyright infringement.

I say this because if a photo is found to be illegally placed in the database, Dave will not remove it, unless the owner (who doesn't even know his image has been taken) specifically follows the guidelines in the DMCA for legal removal. And see (below) all the tediousness the owner must go through because of someone else's carelessness.

Let's not be careless. There are lots and lots of photos on the web that can legally be used.

Rick, let me reword that. I contact each and every vendor for explicit permission and always attribute to them. I create a link in the caption. Members can't do that. It has to go through admin.
