Can anyone provide an insight as to what may be eating the leaves of my orchids to cause it to look like this? This is a photo of my hubby's orchid. He doesn't think it is a slug as he uses Feroxx to deter them. Any other ideas as to what could be causing this condition?

It looks like slug/snail damage to me. I read the manufacturer information on Feroxx. Its says "Ferroxx® Slug & Snail Bait is an iron-based bait that is effective against a wide variety of slug and snail species." Somewhere else, it says "Kills most slugs and snails." Maybe you have the slug/snail exceptions living in your yard.

I agree with Lucy, that is either slug or snail damage. As far as treatment with Ferroxx goes, the warmer, the breezier, the more humid the climate, the more you have to use it.
It is probably not a grasshopper or locust. They are chewing insects often causing damage starting at the leave's edges, not in the middle.
Snails and slugs have 'rasp like jaws' scraping off tissue, layers at a time. You can clearly see that your husbands plant has damage in layers.
The best time to find them active is an hour after dark. By pointing a flash light at the ground near your plants, you should be able to find them out and about in the reflected beam of light.
There is no better thrill then catching fish using flies that you tied!

I would place some Apple or Potato slices next to the plant and see the next morning what sits/clings to underneath them. Smiling Or place the slices on top of the medium.
