Debbie, I wouldn't have considered it a snarky remark...perfectly logical thing to consider. I don't know if you glanced at that link, but these guys are apparently a worldwide scourge of the mango industry.
@Trying2bGreenThumb, topical controls aren't very effective for scale. I don't know if you ran across recommendations for a systemic control in your research, but that is one way but not a great option either. Big HOWEVER, any bees or other pollinators feeding from the nectars of any flowering plant within the drench range, including the mango, can be poisoned and you won't want this year's fruit. Pretty big tradeoff. I wouldn't recommend an outdoor systemic, just letting you know about the method.
