I have a abutilon tree which has a height of roughly 10 foot. Pictures attached. I moved into this house in Nov and since then I noticed abutilon is leaning on another plant. With the spring coming and abutilon started blooming, I thought it would be a good idea to stake the tree straight using an already existing pole. I used a ratchet strap and I was able to lift the trees as shown in the picture. While doing that, I noticed an almost dead branch close to the roots that has old pruning cuts. When I touched it without any force, it came off and the branch picture is attached. The week after, I noticed some leaves started becoming yellow and flowers are not blooming anymore at least on some parts.
Did I make a mistake lifting it up? Do I release the strap? Do I fertilize the tree? Appreciate any suggestions as I love this plant and will be upset if it dies (even part of it).
Note that the branches were already twisting but I did not cause additional twisting due to straps. I only lifted two of the branches.
