Thread OP
Cleckheaton. West Yorkshire.
can anyone identify this plant? I have had it for 3+ years. it has never flowered. last year it turned a spectacular red autumn colour (it might have been stressed by being potbound) but most of the time the leaves are green. I have absolutely no recollection of how I came to own it so I can't provide much help in identifying it. Thanks, Paul.

Something close to this, perhaps? It changes color from pale green to copper, but there are other similar cultivars

I agree, a heuchera, aka coral bells. We have over 600 listed in our plant database with over 3000 member submitted images

is that stem in the red cycles?. it is unclear wether those are stems or just petioles/leaf stalks, if it is stems, it could also be a shrubby entity, just emerging on spring, soon it should be taller.
My guess it could be something like red leaves ninebark

I guess a few closeups of the leaves would help.

I usually bow to Tofi's expertise, but...a ninebark in a flowerpot for 3 years?

I was thinking it looked more "shrub-y" than Heuchera, too. Maybe one of the dwarfer forms.
