I have a patch of Dutch irises. They bloomed beautifully, all at once, a few weeks ago on spikes that appeared to contain several buds each. The flowers died, I deadheaded them, and then I waited for the next flower on each spike to emerge. I'm still waiting. I think this happened before. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever seen multiple flowers on one iris in the several years I've had them.

Any idea what's going on?

Hi Dewberry, I don't grow Dutch iris, but I looked around on the internet to see what I could learn. It looks like maybe Dutch iris only have 1 flower per stalk. Maybe someone else who knows more about Dutch iris can confirm or refute. If there were more buds on your stems, maybe you don't have Dutch iris. Could you post some pictures?
