There are some daylilies that come under the radar and I think this is one of them. The only reason I got it was because it was listed as late and it was cheap, but it is so much more than that. This 43 year old beauty has a lot going for it. It has multiplied to 11 fans in three years, has sturdy scapes with wonderful branching, bud builds, and the blooms stand up to heat and rain.

Although I have only had Carol Sing for three years, I love everything about it. This picture was taken after a rain shower on August 3, 2023 around 1pm. The petals may curl some, but the color holds up nicely.

Awesome branching! Although branching and bud count was not usually listed on registered daylilies 40 years ago, this one has well-spaced branching and around 15 buds. In the background, you can see that I have already begun cutting back some of the other daylilies that are done for the season.

Carol Sing doesn't begin blooming until the first part of August and will continue to bloom all month due to bud-building.

Carol Sing is a parent to 5 children, all of which are registered as late and very late. I would love to have all of them!

Great review as usual, Vickie: detailed, informative, and well-written. The pictures also are wonderful and are well-placed to support your points. I am sure many will consider adding Carol Sing to their gardens after reading your review. I'll just add that I love the name of this daylily!

Nan, thank you for the acorns and the kind comments! While Carol Sing was an impulse buy on Facebook during Along the Fence Daylilies sale in 2021, I have been thrilled with it!
