Thread OP

I've had my desert rose for 3 years now bought from a nursery and it's been very healthy for the most part but recently been noticing spotting on the leaves and some yellowing around the edges is it possible this is root rot or just that it needs some fungicide. If it does need repotting I definitely could use advice cause this desert rose is really large and I'm nervous about damaging it.

@aldisart Welcome! I can't tell what zone are you so if you are in an area that is spring time, yellowing of leaves could be a root rot issue. It probably would not hurt to check the roots. Especially if it has been in that pot for a long time to make sure that the drainage is not clogged.

It is a beautiful desert rose. @deepsouth @Kaktus may have something to add.

Thread OP

I'm in so cal so it is spring and we have had a very rainy year for this area so it makes sense that it might be root rot. Is there a good guide for checking and fixing root rot and reporting necessary) I'm nervous because it's so large (it takes two people to carry it since it's so heavy)

yellowing leaves is an indication of under-watering ....water to saturation and place in at least 6 hours of direct sun

lightly press the caudex at the soil line....if the caudex collapses in on itself, root rot has occurred
a slightly spongy to hard caudex indicates a healthy adenium

pinch off all the leaves...(to get newer ones to take their place)... fertilize with an all purpose fertilzer (for green leaves)
