Hi everyone,
I've had this bamboo plant growing in water for years and its done well im growing really tall and sprouting a new branch. But suddenly it started turning yellow. The leaves have always been a light green. I've never been able to get them to turn darker green. We moved about 3 months ago and it seemed to like the sunny windows in the kitchen. It gets a lot of morning sun and indirect sun in the afternoon. The roots seem fine I don't see any signs of root rot. It even has some new buds of growth and there's a new leaf growing out of the yellowing leaves. So im not sure what else to do. Could it be that it needs a new bigger vessel to sit in? Any thoughts you have would be helpful. Thank you!

I love having a few of these around in water & sometimes gravel but eventually, they always get tired of that. To save it, put it in a pot of soil like a regular houseplant and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the little clump that develops over the next couple of years. Whenever one gets too tall for your window, you can cut it off, cut it in half, and stick both pieces back into the pot (keeping the "up" end up.) As soon as you forget for a little while, roots will grow and then suddenly, a new stem coming up.

If you can water with rain water sometimes, that helps too, let it flush through the soil until a lot of water has come out of the drain hole. Dracaenas don't like fluoride.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

And as Tiffany mentioned, it's a Dracaena, not a bamboo, that's just a common name given because of its resemblance to bamboo.
