I picked up a car load of plants at my daughter's house today, she was clearing out some beds.
I brought back what I think are iris of some sort. Can anyone tell me the name and any growing info I should know. I am in zone 8b and I do have just a few iris that do well here, most don't.

tofitropic,
The folks over in the daylily forum (where I mostly hang out) suggested they were probably Gladiolus Italicus and Flag Iris. I see that Gladiolus dubius x Gladiolus italicus is the parentage of Byzantine Gladiolus (Gladiolus x byzantinus). That's confusing to me. I am not familiar with Gladiolus crosses but thanks for that info, it is a very close match to me either way.
Being these plants came from a flower bed that had been long neglected I tend to think you are probably correct in referring to them as siberian iris, being the plants were not growing in a particularly damp or wet area like I would expect flag iris to be growing in. That means these should do well in my garden I think.
