Thread OP
Nicholls Georgia
We bought 2 peach trees in February, I read we should wait until fall or winter to plant them. they are sitting on our deck, They also have several peaches on them. But now they look wilted, and leaves are turning yellow. I am afraid they will die in this heat during the summer months here in Georgia, wondering if I should plant them now. Or what to do to save them before planting

Were they bare root? In pots? In February, weren't they dormant? How big are these trees if they already have fruit?

You might have read that fall and winter are good times to plant, but I doubt the peaches will be better off for summer in pots. My 2 cents anyway. As they already sound in trouble.
Plant it and they will come.

Yes, I would have planted them in February. The later in the year it gets, the tougher the transplant because of the heat. But the summer in pots is going to be tough too.

I agree
The sooner you get these things in the ground, the better.

What is meant by Autumn planting... Is you wait till autumn before digging tree.

Growing out a tree that has been container grown is difficult, Really best to find a provider that will provide a freshly dug balled and burlap plant...

Or... just plant a peach pit... They are about the easiest plant in the world to grow from seed.
