Hello,
My garden basil is always losing it's color, turning very light green. It's in fresh garden soil, full sun, watered well, draining well...what do you think?

What cultivar is it? Basils come in various colors, some are paler than others. Yours looks reasonably healthy but the new growth seems puny. Also looks like there's a hint of sunscald.

Looks like it's in a pot. By "fresh garden soil," do you mean real soil from the ground or potting mix from a bag? Have you fertilized? Full sun in your location might be too much. Try a bit of afternoon shade.

Puckering leaves is a stress response. The soil looks very dry. Basil leaves do get pale and burn easily when they need water.

I grow mine in afternoon shade - its just too hot. Easy on the fertilizer - basil loses its flavor if you use too much.
