Lower Sierra Nevada foothills
Hi, this past weekend a neighbor's herd of cattle got loose and trampled all over our property - breaking in half a 7ft tall Hope crape in the process. The tree is about 9-10 years old and is being held together with duct tape as a Hail Mary. It was special ordered at the time from a guy back East but he does not have this variety now and what we did find won't ship to California. Local nurseries don't carry it, and none that we've contacted so far will special order and ship in.

We have some small 10" tall starts in 1 gal pots but they will take a long time to grow to size (ultra crappy soil here). Would like a more mature tree rather than 1-5 gal pot. We could put a mature Natchez in place but that variety is much brighter white than the delicate barely pink blush of the Hope. The house gardener really wants this specific variety.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Know any nurseries in CA that would special order? Thank you for your time.

Try propagation from cuttings. I cannot evaluate the extent of the damage but they can be resilient and grow back in time. I tried to kill one by cutting it to the ground and finally gave up and it is back, as they say in the movies.
