Thank you Kin. I have been learning alot the last 2 weeks. I knew nothing about HTML or BB coding before this all started. It has been fun, but is hard trying to untangle my brain and make it understand. Learning is a good thing.

It's going to be fun sharing pictures and ideas. Thank you for posting the picture.
I am looking forward to doing containers this Spring using Al's potting mix recipe for succulents. I went to town yesterday and bought all the fixings except the grit. It will come in Tue. I'm ready. A bunch of my different sedum are coming out of dormancy already. The semps look like they are starting to grow also. Wow, in Feb. I can't believe it. Just hope Winter doesn't decide to show up.

WOW! There are some really nice photo's and ideas here that leads me to this!

I have this really cool flamingo form and think he would look so good filled with Semps. Possibly head and body with contrasting wing color. What do you think?

Wow, Kathy, even cooler than the Flamingo, is the dock and the river in the background. Looks like an awesome place!

I think that's a great idea to cover the Flamingo in Semps. They don't need a lot of water, and you could stuff the Flamingo body with soil. You could even maybe use the coir fiber mats that you can buy in bulk off a roll and cut it to fit the Flamingo frame. Then just poke a hole in each place that you insert the sempervivum roots.

Kathy, that is a great idea. There are so many different semps. From very tiny ones to great big one. So many colors and textures. You have such talent in combining texture and color, I can't wait to see the finished product.

I made a bunch of these turtle topiaries last summer. This was taken right after I put this one together. For some reason I never took a picture at the end of the summer.....DUH!

Does anybody have semps for sale? That Flamingo of mine is going to take quite a few.

I don't have any for sale or trade right now. Mine are all out in the great outdoors doing their thing. Not like the commercial growers do. : )
I have had great luck with Squaw Mountain and have heard that Mountain Crest Garden is another good place. What I like about Squaw Mountain is they send you baby chicks which you will have for 3 or 4 years before they bloom and die. If you get a big mature plant you may or may not get chicks before it blooms and dies. End of Hen Story. : ) Go for the youngsters. It doesn't hurt to have a few of the mature ones for immediate gratification or for that wonderful flamingo you are going to plant.
It won't be until about June before I have anything ready to go out. Wish you could have gotten in on the co-op for Mountain Crest. You would have had a wonderful time picking your colors, textures and sizes. Way to expensive at the regular price though. If you can wait awhile I could help you out. When the database is finished you cans see what I will have.

That's good info, Lynn. I never thought to go for the babies for that reason.
