There are nearly 1000 species in the Salvia (sage) genus and I'm going to guess that most of them bloom.
In that group are a whole bunch that are considered culinary sages, no idea how many. Yours might be one of those, and that bud will open soon. Here's my common culinary garden sage, Salvia officinalis, blooming happily 💜
