I'm so glad you bought 'Joe Burrow'! I did not get to see whether it bloomed for us this year bc of my broken ankle immobilizing me. I'm finally free of the clumsy boot as of last week (hooray!) but still can't walk very well.
I wanted to add a little more about Jan. Richard is obviously generous and caring about their community and so was Jan. She was a talented and expert quilter. There were beautiful quilted wall hangings in their home. And one gorgeous full sized quilt hanging from a balcony.
The last time we visited them, she showed me some lap quilts she was making to donate to a local facility. They were lovely. I could see she was using the same high quality of fabrics and beautiful patterns she used for her own. That's genuine caring about the pleasure as well as comfort they would provide the recipients!
I was glad to hear Richard was at the Region 2 meeting this summer! He sat with my husband on the bus trips. They talked daylilies mostly, of course! He was in good spirits.
Then he came to the MCDS summer meeting and plant sale. He donated some terrific plants. He sat by my husband again and again he was in good spirits. His website appears to be active again, so check it out if you want to get some great quality plants at fair prices!
