Yes! It was a couple of weeks before I was able to use that chair! I didn't dare disturb the Chrysalises! So much fun to watch them emerge! I was also surprised by the butterflies not even waiting to mate with the new ones just emergingโ€ฆas in the last pic. Gotta love nature!!! Sticking tongue out

I'm surprised the Chrysalises were on that chair. You would think they would be on a plant. Blinking

The Gulf Fritillary caterpillars can pupate a LOT of places! The chair might be near some host plants.

I was really surprised by how far they actually traveled to pupate! This picture can give you an ideaโ€ฆThe trellis in the foreground holds the Passiflora incarnata, and the chair sits on the front porch. Those little buggers can really travel! Hilarious! The house is concrete block, and they were even hanging on the blocks! Such amazing little things!

Dave, your Eastern Blue looks more like a Gray Hairstreak. Not sure about that caterpillar, although it does sort of look familiar.

That looks like it to me! Yesterday, we went to a small cemetery to visit the grave of our friend who passed away recently. Afterward, we went just a short distance nearby to an old small historic chapel to look around. Near the chapel I spotted a Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly which seemed to be looking for a host plant. I eventually saw a little caterpillar on a blade of grass also. I looked for a pipevine plant for it, but couldn't find any. So...I took it home with us. I have no caterpillars on my pipevine plants, so it seemed like a good idea! Female Pipevine Swallowtail, and the caterpillar who's eating as fast as it can.
