I tuned my in late last night, because I was afraid that I wouldn't get it turned in before the deadline.

I trimmed a lot off mine, since it was going pass the 500 (510) limit. I wanted to be under the limit to be safe!

It was a lot of fun! Maybe next year we could have a different theme, since were all going to read all the holiday ones this year.

Vacation stories would be fun - and childhood birthday stories - or Science Fiction stories - old age stories or ghost stories or OH HECK! I think any story would be fun! I really did enjoy the project and I cannot WAIT to read them!

Last night I was thinking that a color could also be a theme.

There's REDNECK RED, RED FLAT FRED, RED GRACE, DOUG'S RED MERCEDES, RED EYED SHOCKER -- and the list goes on and on. It really is fun to play around with. And y'all are doing a great job!!

Sharon, are they going to be left on here for a while after the contest is over? We're leaving early Monday, and probably won't be back until close to the middle of the month. I won't have any internet access while I'm gone, and I really want to read all of the stories!

I agree with you, Natalie, and though we haven't discussed it, I'm sure we'll leave the 'tales' up for awhile. We don't want anybody to miss them.

No worries, the "tales" thread will definitely be here in the forum for anyone to read anytime. It has been wonderful to hear everyone talking about "next time" and thinking up so many great themes!

If you are waiting until the last minute to send a story in or if you are just now thinking it could be fun to write a story... there are only a few hours left until the deadline for entering. Please be sure the person, daylily, Char or Sharon, you tmail your entry to tmails you back to let you know your story was received and entered.

I thought they were due this past Saturday night at midnight. I got mine in a day or two before that. I didn't want to be late.

September 30 at midnight, says in the rules. But be happy you got it done early, Marilyn, you had a couple days to sit back and relax! No last minute writing for you!!

And so midnight tonight is the deadline, that means also that if you are on the west coast it's midnight for you as well. Which also, too, means, the three of us will be up all night just so we don't miss a last minute story. LOL!! Char, I think that might mean it will be you and me. Juli doesn't need to be reading anything at midnight!!
