This is one gorgeous Salvia! The flowers are very long, very beautiful and very orange! I love it! Drooling Lovey dubby

I can't stop taking pics of it!

To see the true color of the flowers, go to Flowers By The Sea site, because the true colors didn't come in the pics.

The took these pics in the evening of Sept 24 and I have more pics from previous days. I gotta grow this one every year!

I just love this plant. It starts up at a time of year so many other varieties are fading. It really is regal!

I just realized that I didn't get this gorgeous Salvia ordered this year from Flowers By The Sea! Crying Blinking

I received my order from FBTS and was checking off my list to what was shipped and realized that I won't be seeing those gorgeous long and orange flowers this year that I was looking forward to. I guess when I did the original order, it was out of stock and whenever it became available, I didn't get it, since I figured I'd already ordered it.

I was mesmerised by the flowers every day it was in bloom! It's become one of my favorites! (The pics I took above from 2013, don't show the bright orange color)

Oh well, there's always next year! Thumbs up

Salvia regla has always been a problematic plant for us. Why? Because people (understandably) want to order and receive them early in the year, but the plant is very difficult to propagate and grow until days are long. That's why we have S. regla 'Royal' as a Limited Availability plant, offered June through September. Having healthy and nice sized plants before June is very difficult. So from our perspective, this is an ideal candidate for fall planting. Some plants just don't fit our schedules well.
