By JuneOntario | When retirement time arrived, hubby and I decided we wanted to live out of town and be surrounded by nature. We moved to a small house on a big property that included a wooded valley, a wetland, and a large, stream-fed fish pond. My dear spouse insists on mowing large areas of grass, going right up to the pond’s edge in several places, and in doing so creates an ideal environment for Canada geese: short grass with lots of new growth, and excellent sight-lines for spotting predators a long way off. |
