Well, it looks like our weather is finally smartening up - frost last night, but lovely spring sunshine today. Even with rain in the forecast it seems that there is a warming trend. Finally!

Same here Jacki. We might get a little sprinkle off and on today, mostly sunshine and 60°F. I plan on working outside all day today as soon as it dries up a bit.

We cross posted Chris. How is your weather today?

Well, I didn't get that done, but thought about it lots, and put all my other ones that I did last week back into the water bath. They look so cool! Once the voting is over (for none Canadians, we're having a federal election tomorrow) and my other orders are taken care of, I'll get to doing some more. Thank goodness the weather is going to smarten up a bit. They're saying rain, but that's okay if I'm in my greenhouse playing.

Bums me out that I will have to cure the pots for so long. Patience isn't my long suit. Rolling my eyes.
I shall henceforth count you all as enablers of my collecting \"disease\".

That is the hardest part about making them. But in the long run you'll be glad you did! Terri, are you getting ready to make some?

Well, I'll be making some after I get my garden in. Gmama comes home Wednesday, so I'll be able to get on some things. I'm really wanting to make some troughs.

What are you going to use for a mold or form? I'd like a few more troughs too. Can never have too many!

You could make them in the fall and soak them over winter. I've done that...

Do you put the mix on the inside or outside of the tote Terri. And the spray keeps it from sticking?

I planted up most of the little pinch pots, and a larger one that I made earlier. I have several soaking in the water bath but not sure if I did something wrong. The only difference was that I used a bigger sieve for the second batch for the peat moss - this was about 1/8" holes, but the mix seems way more crumbly. I'll see how they cure.

Anyway, the first batch looks great - here are some pics with tiny plants in, mostly Jovibarba heuffelii, J. species mixed and some tiny Sedum varieties (lydium, glaucophyllum, brevifolium and others)

Thumb of 2011-05-11/BlueFox/7dc4ca
Thumb of 2011-05-11/BlueFox/04c6c1

The top pic shows four of the smaller ones - they are about 4-5" across, and the bottom pic has two that size, plus one larger one - 6-7" across.
