Greg, you are the lucky one who got my baby spiral aloe. I thought Stush was going to give it to someone else who requested one from him but he ran out of spiral aloes. But I'm so glad it got adopted by a very capable aloe collector.

Please do keep me posted of her progress. Just tag me anytime.

Gigi,
Seems like my luck is now taking off. I have a huge amount of A. poly germinating. Must be the fresh seeds from China.

Gigi and Stush I will keep ya'll posted. I'm thinking the littler one is probably not gonna make it, but don't want to be negative Thumbs down I've transplanted it once, and still it is just brown and sad looking. The other one though is okay! I'm sure it'll make it through the winter and then take off next spring! Thumbs up
Stush how exciting for you that you have more germinating, I'm sure you could sell these on ebay or something! Thumbs up Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

Thanks, Greg. I've been known to kill things with kindness so I'm trying to be especially cautious about watering this little A. polyphyla. Smiling

I think my situation is the opposite, I have them on a deck that I have to water, and I don't know how often to do that, so while I'm home I have been spray misting them every morning, and they seem to like that! Thumbs up

Greg,
Those guys can take more watering than other Aloes. Also don't give up. That one Tee got was almost dead. I just kept it around and then noticed new leaves growing in the center. Also they don't need transplanted from that small container till spring.

I have a question. How large does it have to be to have a full spiral? Because I was thinking of using pot size to dwarf it at that point. I have limited space in an apartment after all. Hilarious!

@stush2019 should be able to answer that. I have one of about 8" and it's not yet spiraling.

Can't find source. But I believe it takes about 4 years. They are long lived plants.

Here is the website that has the plants that Hetty had posted about at the beginning of this thread
http://www.ecotree.net/spiral_...
Stush I think you are correct because he says 2 to 3 years from receiving his plants and they are a year old.
Adam your plant looks great!! Is that one you grew from seed? If so it seems to love what you're doing!!! Patience my friend, 3 years goes by in no time lately! haha
Stush thank you for the info, I haven't been watering them enough! I thought this might be the case. I'm going to be a better parent once I move them back indoors, I'll be able to keep a better eye on them! I tip my hat to you.
Honestly even as little as they are and without the spiral, they still look different from other aloes, (silly thing to post, since each aloe looks different Hilarious! ) maybe its just my anticipation that makes them so cute! Lovey dubby
Cheers I tip my hat to you.

Well a little caterpillar decided to munch on my seedling. Grumbling I picked it off and put somewhere else in the yard. I dusted the seedling with flowers of sulfur.
I'm pretty sure it will make it.
