Yes, Tara, you are absolutely correct. The wall is at our home in Arkansas. Although I didn't contribute to the construction of the wall, you now know partly why I received my name! When we first moved to AR, we used to laugh and say when we dug a gallon hole, we got a gallon of rocks, therefore I used some of them in the back to construct more walls, but not the ones you see. Mine look more like the ones my Scotch ancestors would build. If you go to page 13 of the multi-plant photos, you can see what my work looks like. I can't take credit for the stepping stones or the steps, however, that was DH's work.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

Jean, those are wonderful pics. Stone walls remind me so much of my childhood, growing up in Rhode Island. That is really the one big thing that I miss so much living here in Florida. So glad you posted them! Great work! Thumbs up

Thanks so much Tara. The land in AR is so different from Florida. We lived in Illinois for 35 years and although it was flat there, the soil was so rich I often complain that we have to buy dirt in both AR and FL! Rarely had to use fertilizer in the garden because of the richness of our Illinois soil.

Hi Tara,

Since you were interested in the rock wall in AR I ran across this photo taken last winter and as you can see, it is actually three walls.
Thumb of 2013-11-10/rocklady/81c223 Thought you might like to see what it looks like in the wintertime!

Oolala! Beautiful Jean! ❄❄❄ The snow is one thing that I don't miss about living North! Though it is gorgeous to look at through a window!

When we were first married, I moved from the sandhills of NC to northern Illinois. I rarely had seen much snow so I was excited in mid November when we had our first snow. I didn't see the ground until spring!!! By that time I had seen enough snow. There is nothing worse than looking at dirty snow! Unfortunately, I had 33 more years to endure it before we moved south again. As they say, "Oh what a relief it is" to be away from there. We have snow once in awhile in AR, but it is gone within a couple of days. We have a fantastic snow removal system there. It's called THE SUN!
