Love this, Myriam. Thumbs up

I also really like the natural aged look of planters in the background. Are they hypertufa pots?

Thank you Chelle and Lin! Smiling
They are not hypertufa pots Chelle, I only made one once many years ago, but got inpatient as it took so long for it to harden out.
They are made in cement, white and yellow sand and when still fresh I rubbed in some dirt for encouraging moss and algae growth that gives them the weathered and natural look. I like pots to make unity with the plant instead of standing out by itself.

I agree with Chelle & Lin. Artistic, Appealing and Educational (for me). Nice to see grasses in the arrangement along with Queen Anne's Lace. In summary: Outstanding arrangement.

Thanks for sharing the details on your lovely planters, too, Myriam. Thumbs up That's what I liked so much about them; they're just barely noticeable in their area, yet upon closer inspection they're also part of the living entirety of their environment.

Thumbs up I agree; I wish manufacturers would make pots/containers more natural looking. In my opinion it's the plant that should "stand out" while the container should fade into the background.

That is even better formulated Lin and Chelle! Thumbs up Not all the pots I made myself, I have hundreds of them! I often buy them for nearly nothing in a second hand shop or even collect them free from a recycling park. If the general shape is OK, I then personalize them by treating them with the cement mixture and the dirt.

I read an article years ago about "weathering" terra cotta pots by rubbing yogurt on the sides and leaving them sit for a few days. I'd be afraid the yogurt would attract bugs but thankfully with our humidity here the terra cotta pots seem to weather very quickly by just leaving them sit outside for a short while.

I also once tried the rubbing yogurt method too but gave up on that, the rain washed it all away.. Rolling my eyes.
If the pots are left in a shady and damp place the weathering process also speeds up I find.
