Climbing petunias in A Love for Annual Vines from Seed

There are many annual vines that are very easy to start from seed. Some of these vines are enormous and will give you a gorgeous vertical display in the right spot. Most annual vines can be started from seed early, indoors, and/or direct sowed after the danger of frost is past. Many are suitable for either container gardening or directly in the ground.

I tried what is called "climbing" petunias this past season.
They do not really climb, and they did not flower all that well.
They were a more upright growing plant----maybe more suitable for a wildflower type of setting.

I've never tried any that were tagged as climbing. I do know that Tidal Waves grow over 4 feet long and will grow up a trellis. I've done this several years and they look great growing up. You could help it at 1st and attach it to the trellis, since Petunias do not have any way to grab on with.

I like Tidal Wave on a trellis as it gives lots of flowers.
The one I tried gave flowers mostly at the ends of stems.
